FINANCE

What We Do

We help financial institutions understand where financing gaps exist and develop practical solutions that respond to customer and market needs.

We can support institutions to develop:

  • Inclusive Credit Strategies: Approaches that help institutions reach women and underserved customer segments more effectively.
  • Women-Owned Business Finance Products: Credit and financing solutions designed around the realities of women entrepreneurs and growing businesses.
  • Cash-Flow-Based Lending Models: Approaches that look beyond traditional collateral and consider business cash flow and performance.
  • Credit Readiness Programs: Practical support that helps entrepreneurs improve financial records, cash-flow management, documentation, and readiness for finance.
  • Customer Segmentation & Market Insights: Better understanding of different women entrepreneur and underserved business segments, their needs, and their growth potential.
  • Alternative Credit Assessment: Responsible use of transaction data, digital records, and other information to better understand customer creditworthiness.
  • Business Growth Pathways: Financial solutions that support businesses as they move from start-up to working capital, growth, and expansion.
  • Measurement & Learning Tools: Indicators that help institutions track access to finance, loan use, business growth, repayment, customer experience, and economic outcomes.

The Opportunity

Our goal is to help institutions identify new customer opportunities while supporting stronger businesses, responsible lending, greater resilience, and long-term growth.

Better Access to Capital. Stronger Businesses.
Better Financial Futures.

Access to finance can be the difference between a business staying small and being able to grow.

Yet many women and underserved businesses still face barriers linked to collateral, credit history, documentation, and traditional lending models. In Ethiopia, the World Bank reports that only 15.8% of firms have access to a bank loan or line of credit. GIIFF works with financial institutions to strengthen inclusive credit, responsible lending, and better pathways to capital.
